Dr. Stefeny Pollack received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University in 2012. Dr. Pollack then did a rotating internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Miami Veterinary Specialists. Her internal medicine residency was completed at Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center in Pennsylvania in 2017. She successfully became board certified and a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2017. She has been practicing in South Florida as a specialist in small animal internal medicine since that time.
What is a small animal internal medicine specialist?
This is a veterinarian who completed additional training after finishing veterinary school. To start, this includes a one-year rotating internship. After that, a three-year residency program is required. Residency training concludes with comprehensive examinations and a journal publication. With successful completion of these requirements, the veterinarian is then considered a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (DACVIM).
